Thin Tanks is about innovation, research and development.

The thought of having to install a circular rainwater tank in the backyard of a modern home led to the conclusion there was a need for a more environmentally appealing solution.

The obvious answer was to make a rainwater tank that looked like a fence. Once the decision was made, it automatically followed that the tank is made as thin as possible.

Thin Tanks comply with AS/NZ 4766-2006 for a design life of 20 years at 20 degrees celsius
from a Structural Perspective.

Hence the name Thin Tanks

The final design decision was to somehow duplicate the appearance of a fence.

The end result was the 1000 Litre Thintank, with FENCE columns between each tank. Using more than one water tank we have a dividing fence.

Defining the shape, size and appearance was the inspiration of an inventive qualified civil engineer with 50 years experience in plastics and water treatment who is still part of this continuing journey with Thin Tanks planned expansion.

Designing and manufacturing the product to meet these criteria – required far more technical inspiration, time and financial commitment.

Two years later we were marketing the very successful 1000 litre Thin tank. This success led to the development of the 2000 litre Thin tank.

Some two years later in October 2012 the 3000 Litre Thin tank has completed the range of residential rainwater tanks to meet any residential home need.

All Thin Tank are designed by a professional consulting engineer in accordance with all AS/NZ Standards and designs confirmed with FEA testing.

Thin Tanks are very committed to the water conservation industry – not only residential and industrial rainwater retention but also grey water recycling, storm water retention and water treatment.
