The Aluminum for the framing is obtained in the form of aluminum logs that have been produced by the New Zealand Aluminum Smelter at Tiwai Point. Extrusion is completed by Inex Independent Extrusions in Hamilton. The profiles were designed by Winter Gardenz The dies for the extrusions have been engineered, designed and created by the same firm. Inex powder-coat the extrusions in-house. These are then bundled in lots of four and delivered to the WinterGardenz factory where they are cut to size and punched or drilled to measure.

Fastners and Brackets

Aluminium sheets are lazer cut and folded at Precision Laser Cutting in Auckland. The equipment used to lazer cut the aluminium sheets costs around 1.2 milllion and require replacement every seven years.

Rubber Beading

There is a considerable amount of Rubber Beading included in the Build of the Winter Gardenz Greenhouse.

Rubber Beading is extruded at a company in Hamilton.

The Rubber Bead is a unique rubber bead sealing system designed to encapsulate the glazing panels while adding significant strength to the overall construction. 

Winter Gardenz has international patents for this system.

4mm Toughened Safety Glass

Glass sheets are imported and go through a manufacturing process to create toughened safety glass.

The process to create toughened safety glass is as follows.
The glass goes through a wash to first dull and smooth the edges
The glass is then put through a kiln to heat at a high temperature. It is cooled quickly in a chiller then cut to size.
The equipment/machinery used throughout each process are highly technical as with the other processes discussed in this document WinterGardenz will be replacing some of their glass stock with excess from the USA plant.

6mm Polycarbonate Sheet

Winter Gardenz use 6mm Twinwall Polycarbonate as a glazing option. The polycarbonate is imported in sheets and cut to shape and size in the Winter Gardenz Factory.
